Jim Dunlop PVP124 John Petrucci Trinity Variety Pack Guitar Picks (6 pcs/pack)

The John Petrucci Trinity Pick combines a custom Small Tri shape with the contoured shoulders of the Flow Pick shape with a Jazz III-inspired tip for a playing experience that’s smoother, faster, and more disciplined than ever before. Originally available in Ultex, it now comes in Tortex and Tortex Flex™ materials so that you can tailor this high-performance pick even more closely to your playing style.

How does John use each version? Here’s what he had to say:

“What I absolutely love about the Trinity Pick is that it has three usable pointed sides and three usable curved sides. This makes for a ton of versatility depending on how I hold the pick. Having Ultex, Tortex, and Flex Pick versions provides me with the perfect palette to choose from—which was especially useful while recording the latest Dream Theater album. I just love having the ability to grab the right pick for the right moment.

“When I want to nail a fast and intricate line, I’ll go for the Ultex Trinity Pick, as the molded, beveled edges give me pin-point accuracy, and the raised Majesty logo provides an excellent gripping surface, ensuring that the pick always stays firmly in place, even at high playing speeds.

“For a more expressive, three-dimensional tone on a soaring melody or to bring some separation and personality to the notes of a line, I’ll grab the Tortex Trinity Pick, as it really helps the notes to speak with a ton of tonal variation.

“The Tortex Flex Trinity Pick is absolutely perfect for digging in and coaxing clarity out of intricate lines on the lower strings as well as making tight, percussive riffs sound clearer and more focused. Even without the raised grip on the Tortex and Tortex Flex versions, the pick sits securely and comfortably between my fingers at all times.

“All three iterations of the Trinity Pick are incredible. It’s like choosing a different paint brush to facilitate what you’re trying to achieve artistically. You now have the perfect arsenal of incredible picks to choose from. Whichever Trinity Pick you reach for, have fun, and shred on!” —John Petrucci
